A Thai woman filed a complaint against a fruit vendor in the southern province of Songkhla after she slashed her mother following a dispute over a parked motorcycle in front of the shop.

The victim’s daughter, Waranart, shared videos of her injured mother standing in front of a fruit shop on Facebook yesterday, November 10. She also explained in the caption that the attack took place because she parked her motorcycle in front of the shop.

Waranart revealed that she took her mother to buy fruits at the shop. She parked her motorcycle in front of the store, let her mother buy the fruits, and then went to a nearby convenience store. She was in the convenience store for 15 minutes and went out to see her mother engaging in a heated argument with the vendor and her husband.

The mother revealed to the media that she could not find the desired fruits, so she did not buy anything from the shop and returned to wait for her daughter on the motorcycle.

According to Waranart’s mother, the fruit vendor asked her to move the motorcycle away from the front of her store. However, the mother could not move the motorcycle because she could not ride it and did not have a key with her. She told the vendor she had to wait for her daughter. The vendor insisted she move the motorcycle immediately and that is when the argument sparked.

Security camera footage revealed the fruity exchange between the two parties. The vendor was caught throwing a fruit at Wanranart. Waranart grabbed longan from the shop and threw it back at the vendor. The vendor’s husband appeared with a wooden stick and unsuccessfully tried to hit the mother and daughter, who had returned from the convenience store.

After throwing fruits back and forth, the vendor brandished a knife and attempted to attack Waranart. Waranart’s mother stepped forward to protect her daughter resulting in her hand being slashed.

Waranart added that the vendor still threatened to file a complaint against them despite the knife attack. Waranart and her mother later filed a complaint with the police but officers did not take the matter seriously and even laughed at them while they filed their report.

The vendor, later identified as Penphitcha, insisted that the mother and daughter had insulted her first. She asked the mother to leave the front of her shop.

Penphitcha stated that she replied to the woman nicely, saying that she did not mean it that way, but she was about to close the shop, citing the inconvenience caused by the parked motorcycle.

Penphitcha claimed that the woman and her daughter then scolded and insulted her, making her angry.

Channel 3 reported that no charges have been filed against any of the parties, and police have not yet summoned the shopkeeper for questioning.
