A Thai man fatally stabbed a motorcycle taxi rider at an apartment in Nonthaburi province near Bangkok, after the victim allegedly exposed his penis and made sexual advances towards the suspect’s wife on Monday.

Officers from Bang Kruay Police Station investigated the incident Monday, November 12, on Soi Bang Kruay-Sai Noi 11 in the Bang Kruay district of Nonthaburi. The deceased, 45 year old Sommai, was found lying lifeless in the middle of the road.

A trail of blood led from Sommai’s body to the apartment where he lived, which is more than 10 metres away from the spot where he was found. Sommai sustained two stab wounds, one on his left arm and another on his chest.

Sommai’s friend, 40 year old Suriyan, informed police that the suspect was Sommai’s neighbour, identified as Thanaphat. Sommai lived on the first floor of the building, while Thanaphat lived with his 28 year old wife, Supaporn, on the second floor.

The two men reportedly argued last night after Sommai exposed himself to Supaporn earlier that day but tensions escalated to the fatal assault. Thanaphat allegedly stabbed Sommai twice before fleeing the scene on his motorcycle.

Suriyan recounted that Sommai attempted to escape but eventually collapsed on the road. He rushed to assist his friend and, noticing Sommai struggling to breathe, lowered his face mask to help him. Suriyan immediately called the police and rescue team, but they were unable to save Sommai.

In an interview with Channel 7, Supaporn said the incident occurred around midnight when she left her room to meet her younger sister. At that time, Sommai allegedly exposed his penis, leaving her shocked and frightened. She later informed her husband, who became visibly angry.

Supaporn added that she was not at home when the stabbing occurred. She returned just as her husband was leaving the scene, knife in hand. Thanaphat reportedly left without explaining what had happened.

Thanaphat remains at large. Police have not yet provided further updates on the case or information about his possible escape route.
