Thai man smears faeces on rescuer after toilet request denied
A Thai man smeared faeces on a rescuer’s face after the latter refused to let him use his motorcycle to go to the toilet because the man had just crashed his pickup on a road in the central province of Chachoengsao while reportedly rushing home to use the bathroom.
The local news Facebook page, Bang Paking News (คนข่าวบางปะกง), reported the unexpected encounter of the Chachoengsao rescue team on Saturday, January 11, beginning with the hashtag #เคสเหลืองออกเหลว, which translates to “yellow liquid case.”
The page reported that the 57 year old drunk pickup driver crashed his vehicle into a sedan at a red light on Siri Sothorn Road in the Bang Pakong district of Chachoengsao province. A rescuer, 29 year old Thitipakin, who was riding his motorcycle behind the two vehicles, witnessed the incident and stopped to assist.
The intoxicated driver pleaded with Thitipakin to lend him his motorcycle, explaining that he urgently needed to go to the nearest petrol station as he was suffering from diarrhoea.
The pickup driver claimed he could no longer hold it in and added that he had been rushing home to use his bathroom before the crash. He further accused the sedan driver of braking suddenly, causing him to hit its rear.
Thitipakin refused the request, reasoning that it would be dangerous for the intoxicated man to ride a motorcycle in his condition. This refusal enraged the pickup driver, prompting him to shout angrily at the rescuer.
The driver then proved his claim by defecating in his trousers and on the road. In a fit of anger, he gathered some of the poop, smeared it on Thitipakin’s face, and reportedly said…
“I told you I needed a bathroom. Believe me now?”
Police were called to the scene to investigate the accident and found the pickup driver standing on the road in soiled trousers. The officers instructed him to clean himself in a roadside ditch, where he continued to relieve himself.
There has been no report of any legal punishment issued against the driver. However, based on similar cases, he may face a fine of 2,000 to 10,000 baht for violating Section 78 of the Land Transport Act: causing damages to another person’s property while driving.
