A housing estate owner shot and murdered his female business partner before taking his own life in Nonthaburi province, near Bangkok, allegedly due to financial issues.

The shooting at the sales office of a housing estate in Nonthaburi province was reported to Sainoi Police Station at around 6.10pm yesterday, October 2. Officers investigated the scene and found two bodies in the office, identified as 55 year old Supoj Panyathep and 54 year old Kanokwan Jamsubpaisarn.

Supoj, the owner of the housing estate, had a gunshot wound to his head. He was found dead in a chair, with a 9mm pistol on the ground near him. Supoj’s business partner, Kanokwan, was on the floor behind her desk, also with a gunshot wound to the head.

Orrawan, a salesperson working for Supoj, told police that Supoj arrived at the office at 5pm and asked her and a maid to leave him alone with Kanokwan. Orrawan heard two gunshots but assumed Supoj was firing at birds that often bothered people in the office.

Orrawan said that she finished work at 6pm and went to check on Kanokwan before leaving but the office was unusually quiet. She noticed a bullet casing and suspected something was wrong but was too afraid to check on her employers. She decided to call a security guard to the office, who discovered the tragic scene and reported it to the police.

Another employee at the office, 52 year old Wanna, revealed that her employer, Supoj, faced financial difficulties and was unable to pay for a construction project they were working on. Supoj confided in her that he was stressed, and Wanna witnessed arguments between him and Kanokwan in the past.

Kanokwan’s niece, 18 year old Kanyaphat Jamsubpaisarn, disclosed that Supoj borrowed a substantial amount of money from Kanokwan and repaid only 1,000 to 2,000 baht at a time. Kanyaphat also mentioned that her aunt had not received any salary for working for Supoj.

Kanyaphat further shared that while Supoj and Kanokwan argued multiple times in the past, they had never been physically violent with each other before.
