Security guard at Nong Khae Hospital steals wallet from dead man
A daughter is alleging that her father was robbed by a security guard at the Nong Khae Hospital in Saraburi and left him for dead in the car park. It appears her father had a heart attack. Saraburi is north of Bangkok.
The police are alleged to have let the thief go without punishment, and the hospital, who initially promised assistance, have done nothing except send a wreath to the funeral.
25 year old Anucha Changsri was speaking to Manager Online yesterday after her father 49 year old Chayakorn Changsri, a taxi driver, died in the car park of Nong Khae Hospital last week.
Anucha says that her father had headed off to work as normal from his home in Kumhak sub-district, Nong Khae, last Wednesday.
But, she related, as he was driving his taxi he suffered severe chest pains and drove himself to the Nong Khae Hospital. When he was getting out of his cab in the car park he fell onto a metal spike sticking out from a lump of concrete.
By this time he was now still and it appeared he had suffered a heart attack. Chaiyakorn had been suffering from a heart condition. He was originally from Uttaradit.
The security guard in the following shift later found him dead and police were called. CCTV was examined showing Anucha’s father collapsing and falling.
The security guard passed by and offered no help. He walked round the taxi twice before stealing her father’s wallet. She thought it probably contained 10,000 baht as she knew he was on his way to pay an installment for a car later that day.
After the security guard stole the wallet he casually strolled back to his booth. Anucha says that charges were brought against the guard by police but claims they let him go. When they later went to arrest him at his accommodation behind the hospital he had fled.
She believes that the man hwas dismissed by the hospital the day after the incident. Meanwhile, the hospital director promised the family help in any way they could.
“No representative of the hospital came to the funeral, they just sent a wreath,” said Anucha.
