Gunman sparks terror in Sai Mai district, police on manhunt (video)

A gunman sparked terror through the Sai Mai district yesterday when he started firing shots at Nong Bua Temple before walking with a gun along the busy Sukhapiban 5 Road. Police are currently hunting for the suspect and investigating the motives behind the incident, which occurred at 2pm on April 2.

At the initial stage of the investigation, Sai Mai police officers descended on the scene near the entrance of Nong Bua Temple, located in the Sai Mai district, at the intersection of Sukhapiban 5 Road and Soi 94. The assailant, identified as a local from within the temple community, began the assault by shooting at vehicles passing by, specifically targeting an outsider’s car without any known prior provocation.

Witnesses in the vicinity, startled by the gunfire, watched as the suspect then exited the temple grounds, gun in hand, and walked onto the street. A pickup truck driver, spotting the armed man, reversed in an attempt to escape and subsequently lost control, crashing into the roadside.

The driver exited the vehicle, hands raised in a gesture of surrender, as the gunman continued on his way without engaging further.
