Foreign man caught on viral video urinating on Phuket road (video)
A viral video shared on a news Facebook page showed a foreign man urinating in the middle of the Patong Beach Road in Phuket during a traffic jam, despite many motorists staring at him.
The Facebook page, 1วันพันกว่าเรื่อง ภูเก็ต (meaning over 1,000 things happen in a day), shared a video of the foreign man, whose identity was not disclosed, yesterday, July 18.
“Everything happens in Phuket. A foreign tourist urinated while walking in the middle of a crowded road. Don’t care about others. Many cars were behind him. He rushed to get in the car after that.”
The video does not capture the man urinating but shows him zipping up his shorts afterwards. He attempts to avoid being recorded by covering his face with his arm as he rushes to get into a white saloon car.
A local who recorded the video can be heard complaining in the southern dialect.
“F*ck! Peeing along the way. You are no good! Disgusting!”
Amarin TV reported that the incident took place on Patong Beach Road in the Katu district of Phuket.
The video drew a lot of attention and criticism from Phuket locals and netizens, who are not only frustrated with the foreigner’s behaviour but also with the provincial authorities.
“Public toilets would be welcomed by all of us… We don’t have PTT Petrol Stations on every corner of every road in Phuket… Hahaha.”
“The result of free visas.”
“They will also poo on the road soon.”
“Crash into his penis, anyone?”
Many netizens urged officials to increase the number of public toilets and install clear signs in foreign languages to inform visitors. Others called for authorities to impose stricter penalties on tourists who engage in such behaviour.
This is not the first time public urination has occurred in Phuket. A similar incident was reported in March when a foreign woman urinated on a traffic sign on Bangla Road. She was seen pulling down her trousers and urinating as if no one noticed, despite the presence of many locals, business operators, and tourists.
Another incident took place in June when a foreign man was caught urinating on a red tuk tuk in the Patong area of Phuket during a traffic jam. The man was sitting in the vehicle and urinating, clearly visible to other motorists.
