Pattaya’s Jomtien Beach became the site of a brutal assault recently, an event captured on video and circulated on social media, triggering a thorough investigation by the local police. The footage shows a group of six men violently attacking a young Thai man near a sidewalk.

The video, posted by a Facebook user and soon went viral, reached the local media yesterday. In the footage, a man sporting a red shirt stands out for his extreme aggression. He not only takes part in the brutal assault but also brandishes a handgun, with which he strikes the victim’s face five times.

The unfolding violence soon drew the attention of passers-by. A Thai woman, in particular, demonstrated immense courage as she rushed from across the street in an attempt to intervene and stop the ongoing assault. Several other individuals, including motorists and tourists who happened to be in the vicinity, stopped in their tracks, becoming reluctant spectators to the horrifying incident.

Along with the video, the Facebook user also uploaded several other photos and messages. These posts hint at a possible ongoing conflict between the victim and his attackers, adding another layer to the incident that the police now need to unravel.

As of now, it’s unclear whether the victim has approached the police and officially filed a report regarding the assault, reported Pattaya News.

However, Pattaya police, having been alerted to the incident, have already sprung into action. Officers were quickly dispatched to the crime scene near Jomtien Beach, where they began the process of interviewing witnesses and collecting evidence to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the assault and bring the perpetrators to justice.

In related news, an incident at a beer garden during the Thao Suranari Victory Celebration in Nakhon Ratchasima Province turned violent, resulting in allegations of police misconduct. On the evening of April 2, a group of teenagers became embroiled in a brawl, which inadvertently implicated an innocent bystander.
