A two year old Thai boy crashed his mother’s motorcycle into the glass door of a house in the Isaan province of Buriram on Wednesday. The boy was unharmed but his mother sustained injuries from broken glass.

The Siam Ruamjai Pu-in Rescue Foundation responded to the incident at a house on Nang Rong-Lam Plai Mart Road in the Nang Rong district of Buriram at around 8pm on Wednesday, December 4, following a report of a motorcycle accident.

Upon arrival, rescuers found the house’s front glass door, located behind a food stall, shattered. The mother’s motorcycle overturned inside the house, with the engine still running.

The injured woman, identified only as A, was waiting outside the house with her foreign husband, carrying her frightened two year old son. She suffered cuts from the broken glass but her son miraculously escaped injury.

The homeowner, 55 year old Chutipong Kongkun, told ThaiRath that A and her son arrived at his food stall on the motorcycle and ordered drinks. They remained seated on the vehicle with the engine running while waiting for the drinks.

While holding her mobile phone with her right hand, A briefly let go of the motorcycle’s handlebars and the accelerator. At that moment, her son twisted the accelerator, causing the motorcycle to surge forward and crash into Chutipong’s house.

Chutipong shared CCTV footage of the incident with the media, though it did not capture the exact moment when the motorcycle went through the glass door. The footage did, however, show the boy twisting the accelerator.

The homeowner remarked that the incident highlighted the risks of travelling with young children on motorcycles. It remains unclear whether Chutipong sought compensation from A.

In a separate incident involving children and vehicles, a two year old girl was accidentally locked inside a pickup truck while her parents used the bathroom at a petrol station in Chon Buri in June.

The girl played inside the truck while her panicked parents called for help. Fortunately, rescuers managed to unlock the vehicle, and the girl was unharmed.
