Royal foundation helps solve wastewater problems in Ao Nang

The Chaipattana Foundation, one of Thailand’s royal projects, has offered a hand to help solve the critical wastewater problem in Ao Nang, Krabi.

Wastewater flowing from Klong Jak into the sea in Ao Nang has continued for over a decade, according to locals. Despite ten years of complaints, the wastewater problem hasn’t been solved.

Krabi officials asked for support from the Chaipattana Foundation for four windmill water pumps which have now been installed and were on display to the media yesterday. These water pumps suck wastewater from the canal before it flows into open waters.

A representative from the foundation has been following the issue and remains on hand to assist with future problems of the canal.
