Krabi tour operators call for crackdown on foreigners touting tour packages

Tour operators in Krabi are pushing for related government officials to solve the problem of foreigners illegally selling tour packages on Koh Phi Phi.

The meeting was held on the island yesterday. Joining the meeting were members of the Krabi tour operators association and related officials. Tour operators mentioned about 38 years old Christopher Dali, a British national who had been arrested this week.

An officer from the Department of employment, Krabi Office, says the video clip had no sound so the evidence was not clear. One of the tour operators commented “this issue has occurred for a long time. The problem can’t be solved.”

“A Thai nominee went to my house and threatened to kill me after I reported about a foreigner illegally selling tour packages. I had already reported this incident to Phi Phi Police last month.”

The conclusion of the meeting was that officers should continue their investigation of the issue.
