The fire spread to another three buildings nearby but eventually the fire was quelled after more than an hour.

At the time the fire started there was no one inside the shop. The owner of the shop said that before the fire there were candles and joss sticks lit on the Buddhist altar before the owner left the shop to deliver a sofa.

The shop owner learned about the fire after a neighbour contacted them. People in the area had already tried to help using fire extinguishers but couldn’t stop the intense blaze.

Forensic Police are investigating the scene to search for clues as to the cause of fire.
