More than 500,000 people say goodbye to Thai celebrity cat “Maew Askoe”
Over half a million people have gone online to bid their farewell to one of Thailands more celebrated stray cats.
“Maew Asoke” meaning the cat of Asoke (a busy business district along Sukhumvit road in Bangkok) shot to stardom after being repeatedly spotted using the BTS in the area. Whether or not the feline paid for tickets is still in question.
Maew Asoke was always happy to have his picture taken, and never asked for money.

In his later years, the tom was taken in by the admin to the Kindom of Tigers, facebook page.
A heart-wrenching video was posted on the facebook page showing Maew’s final moments. He is seen lying on his cat bed with his cat covers as he succumbs to feline kidney failure.
Reports say that since the passing of Maew Asoke’s best cat-friend, he lost his spark and was never the same.
