The police keep seizing the drugs but the manufacturers keep pushing even more out the back doors of their factories hidden in the jungles of the Golden Triangle and north eastern Myanmar.

But police in Bangkok today reported that a large haul of narcotics has been seized, including more than 200 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, or “ice”, and 1,792,000 methamphetamine pills, in two separate drug busts.

Thailand’s deputy national police chief General Chalermkiat Srivorakan spoke at a press conference at the Narcotics Suppression Bureau in Bangkok today.

In the first case, drug suspect 40 year old Napat Srihera and 16 accomplices were arrested in Nakhon Sawan in a November 10, 2018 bust, when 1,792,000 meth pills, 3 kilograms of ice and 1 kilogram of ketamine were seized.

In the second case, police arrested two men and a woman, all in their 20s, and confiscated 200 kilograms of ‘ice’ in Lampang on January 8, 2019.
