2 men filmed engaging in sexual activity on Bangkok footpath
A Thai Bolt motorcycle rider shared a video on a Facebook group showing two men engaging in sexual activity on a footpath in Bangkok‘s Bang Khen district, prompting widespread criticism.
The Facebook account, พชรดนัย ฯ., posted the explicit dashcam footage yesterday, February 18, in the group Bolt Drivers Thailand. The post was captioned, “Stabbing incident in Bang Khen area…”
The video showed the rider turning into an alley and spotting two men behaving suspiciously on the footpath. One of the men was half-naked, wearing only a black T-shirt, while the other was completely naked.
The two men faced the wall of a condominium and appeared to notice the Bolt rider observing them. They slowly moved apart.
Nearby, a motorcycle taxi shelter stood empty. No other people were in the area but the street lights illuminated the scene, making it visible to passers-by.
The Facebook post attracted a flood of comments. Some users responded with humour, while others called on the police to address the matter. A few speculated that the men might have been creating pornographic content for online distribution.
Under Thai law, their actions violate Section 388 of the Criminal Code, which prohibits public indecency. The offence carries a fine of up to 5,000 baht.
If the men were filming sexual content for online distribution, they could also face charges under Section 14(4) of the Computer Crimes Act, which criminalises importing explicit material into computer systems. This offence is punishable by up to five years in prison, a fine of up to 100,000 baht, or both.
The Bolt rider who shared the explicit video publicly could also face legal consequences under the Computer Crimes Act. Police recommend that such material be reported directly to them rather than shared online.
A similar incident was reported in November last year. In that case, a man in a food delivery uniform was filmed performing oral sex on another man in a police uniform in broad daylight on the side of a road. The encounter, visible to motorists and pedestrians, reportedly took place near a police station in Bangkok.
The police officer in the video was alleged to be stationed at the nearby precinct. However, law enforcement later claimed that the man in the uniform was not an actual officer.
