Bangkok Airways Phuket Half-Marathon announced

A press conference was held at Limelight Avenue hosted by the Phuket Provincial Police Commander Maj Gen Teeraphol Thipjaroen, Phuket Vice Governor Prakob Wongmaneerung and Deputy Director of the Phuket Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Montri Manator.
The media gathering was called to announce the Phuket Half-Marathon to be held on August 5.
The marathon is part of Bangkok Airways Boutique Series 2018.
The vice Governor Prakob says, “Phuket is an enchanting tourism destination. Many tourists are traveling to Phuket and sport is also attracting tourists for marathons, triathlons, cycling events, surfing, sailing and boxing. These sports generate local income.”
“We are always supporting people to play sports and there’s certainly been a surge of people engaging in the many sporting events organised around the island in recent times. Bangkok Airways will be sponsoring the Phuket Half-Marathon on August 5 which be held from 4am to 9.30am. We are expecting that there will be more than 6,000 runners, both Thai and foreigners, to participate in the marathon,” he added.
“The marathon will start at Saphan Hin in Phuket Town and finish at Ao Makham. We are hoping that Phuket local people will either participate or welcome the runners along the route,” he noted.
