Banyan Tree founder KP Ho speaks to Bill Barnett. With a sudden lack of tourists and customers, many Thai hotels had to quickly review their business models and come up with new ways to pay their bills and retain staff. Some succeeded, many didn’t. In fact some hotels have thrived in the face of a seismic change to the hospitality landscape. In the case of Banyan Tree, KP Ho recalls the sudden impact of the pandemic and the many changes to attitudes and business units that is keeping their brand alive. Interesting how positive KP Ho is, unlike some Westerners(no point naming names!), and how he also sees “STVs” and “bubbles” as pointless and that the loss of international tourism has a “flip side”.

Do you even live in Thailand? It seems to me that you just find a way to bash expats that DO LIVE in Thailand. It also seems to me that if the nonsens you are spouting would be true then shouldnt you leave Thailand and let Thailand be only for thais? I think you need to check yourself. Take your blindfoldes off please.

Of course KP Ho is positive.
If he stated our hotels are doomed we are losing millions every week, Banyan stock and share holders would gallop to sell their stock.
I quite liked him though, very well dressed, especially in comparison to Mr Hotel.
Rule one Mr Hotel, if you have a big gut, do not tuck your shirt into your pants.
And trainers – for you!!! Do you ever train? !!!!!

No international travel, plant based foods.. share wealth and experiences with those who can’t afford them.

^^^ that’s your new narrative. All wrapped up in a cute covid present.
