Troublemaker arrested after assaulting elderly man in Nonthaburi
Police in Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi province, yesterday apprehended a notorious troublemaker who had assaulted an elderly man, causing two fractures in his leg. The perpetrator, identified as 29 year old Tosapol, was found hiding in his home after the incident.
According to Police Colonel Pruet Jamrunsa, the arrest took place yesterday, February 4, at 11.45pm, following a report from residents of Moo 5, Bang Khu Rat subdistrict.
Residents alerted the police about the man, known for his problematic behaviour in the community. The suspect had attacked an elderly man, breaking his leg in two places, and subsequently fled to his residence.
Police, along with district administrative officials, surrounded Tosapol’s house and urged him to come out for a discussion. However, he resisted and caused a commotion, prompting police to use force to bring him to Bang Bua Thong Police Station for calming measures.
A 48 year old resident of the neighbourhood recounted witnessing the assault earlier that evening. The victim, an elderly man, had been severely injured, necessitating assistance from locals to get him to the hospital.
The resident described the attacker as a dangerous presence in the community, having previously caused disturbances and assaulted residents. Despite being arrested multiple times, Tosapol was repeatedly released, only to cause more trouble upon his return.
After attacking the elderly man, Tosapol reportedly feigned sleep and ignorance of the police presence before being apprehended.
The community remains concerned about the frequency of his releases and the potential for future incidents. Residents have become wary of spending time outside their homes for fear of being targeted, reported KhaoSod.
The family of the injured elderly man intends to file a police report following his surgery to repair the leg fractures. The family seeks justice and a resolution to the ongoing threat Tosapol poses to the community.
