Hail Caesars Palace. Dining in Rococo style overlooking Patong.
The new ‘Caesars Palace’ is now open in Patong, three floors of kitch Italian plush with, arguably, the best view over Patong. We met up with the General Manager Michael who says they wanted to create a nice, relaxing environment with a warm and homely atmosphere.
“This is a place where you can come to eat and drink or just have a drink in our Lounge bar. The choice is yours. Caesars Palace has three floors with different style and you could easily spend the whole evening here”, according to Michael.
You arrive at the ornate entrance and it only gets more elaborate from there with generous dabs of gold, black and white, marble and velvet reminding you you’re probably in for a good night.
The three floors are separated into the restaurant with it’s plush gold seating, a lounge above and a rooftop terrace atop the building, all overlooking the full vista of Patong from the northern hill, looking south. It’s a stunning view you can just enjoy all night (get there around 6.30pm for the sunset).
“Quality is one of our cornerstones and therefore we have chosen to have a smaller but still quite varied menu. We have a little bit of everything, steaks, seafood and fish. The idea is that the menu should be alive and replaced every now and then. Always with fresh ingredients, there are no shortcuts to good food”, Michael added.
Formerly Versace, and now rebranded with new management, Caesars Palace would be one of those special places visitors wouldn’t be expecting in Phuket. It’s over-the-top rococo gold and white theme would be much more comfortable in 18th century Italy rather than in Phuket’s party town.
But there it is, resplendent, stylish and very tasty.
The food is certainly high-end but the prices reasonable when you measure the quality of the service, the atmosphere and THAT view.
Best to book ahead, get ready for a steep drive up the hill off Prabaramee Road and car parking is limited.
Julius Caesar would be proud of his 21st century ‘palace’ in Patong – boutique fine dining with an astonishing view and lashes of gold. Check their Facebook page here…
