Hamza bin Laden leads al-Qaeda, plans attacks on the West
Hamza bin Laden alive, leading al-Qaeda resurgence, targets West
Defence experts reveal that Hamza bin Laden, son of 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden, is leading al-Qaeda and aims to attack the West. This contradicts previous claims by the CIA that he was killed in 2019.
Analysts indicate Hamza, dubbed the Crown Prince of Terror, is alive and overseeing al-Qaeda, the group responsible for the 9/11 attacks. Reports also link his brother Abdullah to the organisation, suggesting al-Qaeda is regrouping with plans for future assaults on the West.
Col Richard Kemp, former UK forces chief, warns that Hamza has free rein in Afghanistan and seeks vengeance for his father. Intelligence reports indicate senior Taliban leaders are aware of Hamza’s activities, engaging with him regularly and ensuring his and his family’s safety. This underscores a significant connection between al-Qaeda and the Taliban, a crucial detail for Western governments.

Hamza has reportedly taken over al-Qaeda, steering it towards its strongest resurgence since the Iraq War. Additionally, training camps in Afghanistan are preparing fighters and suicide bombers for potential attacks on the West. Approximately 21 terror networks operate in the Taliban-controlled state, raising concerns about another 9/11-style attack. One such camp is in Helmand Province, where UK troops were previously stationed.
Other training facilities exist in Ghazni, Laghman, Parwan, Uruzgan, Zabul, Nangarhar, Nuristan, Badghis, and Kunar, posing a threat to Britain and the US due to their military presence in these areas. Hamza, believed to be in his 30s, reportedly receives support from Afghan warlord Sirajuddin Haqqani.
A 2022 United Nations report warned that al-Qaeda had a ‘safe haven’ in Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power in 2021. Col Kemp reiterated that Hamza seeks conquest and vengeance for his father.
Hamza and his four wives have allegedly been hiding in Iran since 2019 after a failed assassination attempt. That year, then-US President Donald Trump announced Hamza’s death in a US operation in southeast Afghanistan, but no DNA proof was obtained by the CIA. The US had designated Hamza as a global terrorist, accusing him of promoting his father’s jihadist ambitions.
The US Department of Justice noted that before 2019, Hamza released audio and video messages online, urging followers to attack the West and threatening the US in retaliation for his father’s 2011 death by SEAL Team 6 in Pakistan.
Hamza’s last public statement in 2018, issued by al-Qaeda’s media arm, called on Saudi followers to revolt against the monarchy. He is married to a daughter of Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah, an al-Qaeda leader indicted for the 1998 US embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya. A video of Hamza’s wedding was found in Osama bin Laden’s Abbottabad compound and released by the CIA in 2017.
Osama bin Laden masterminded the 9/11 attacks and was killed by US Navy SEALs in 2011 in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
Children from Osama bin Laden’s first wife, Najwa, include Abdullah (43), Abdul Rahman (41), Omar (38), Mohammed (36), Osman (36), Fatima (32), Laden (30), Iman (29), Rukhaiya (22), and Nour (20).
