Phuket Property: Zcape condos

PHUKET: Local property investors are confident that Tri Property’s affordable new Zcape Condominium, currently under construction near Laguna, is just what Phuket’s residential property market needs.

More than 70 per cent of Zcape’s smartly-designed compact units were reserved within days of the sales office opening at the site of the new, low-density development on Baandon Cherng-Talay Rd.

Conceived by Bangkok-based residential property developer Tri Property Co Ltd, construction of the compact condo development is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2014.

Upon completion, the development will be alongside a brand new boutique community mall and international supermarket.

Comprising of 198 studios and single-bedroom units on seven floors, laid out in a horizontal Z-shape, most of the units have an unobstructed view of the pool, garden or hillside.

Starting at 1.19 million baht and ranging in size from 21 to 46.68 square meters, Zcape Condominium offers three types of units.

Designed by Preen Studio, the units have several innovative space-saving ‘flip & slide’ features to keep costs low. The rooms can be quickly adapted to suit residents’ needs simply by flipping and sliding furniture and partition walls – a concept adapted from other residential projects found in some of Asia’s densely-populated cities.

Each unit has a furnished kitchenette and bathroom separated from the living room and bedroom by a three-panel sliding glass partition.

The entire development covers a total area of about 2,200 sqm including a 100sqm triangular swimming pool with hydro massage jets and a baby pool, a fully equipped fitness center and a peaceful garden.

“The units are an ideal accommodation option for single professionals, or people visiting the province on long or short-term trips, who want to be near some of the best resorts and community facilities the island has to offer,” said Tri Property CFO Chaiwat Tuntiwiwat.

Mr Chaiwat, a native of Phuket, says he plans to put high-quality affordable homes on the market and make them accessible to both local and international buyers.

“We’ve already had a lot of interest and we’re highly confident that Zcape Condominium is just what Phuket’s property market needs,” said Mr Chaiwat. “Based on some very positive feedback from many local property watchers, we’re anticipating quite a rush …investors will be looking at healthy rental returns and first-time home buyers are offered easily affordable down payment plans over the next 18 months,” he said.

Investors’ high confidence in the Zcape Condo concept is also linked to Tri Property’s financial stability and solid track record in condo construction with two similarly successful condominium projects in Bangkok: Proud and ProudX2, both in the Cheang Wattana area.
