Phuket Lifestyle: Party on for superyachts

Legacy Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: One of the highlights of the 2013 Asia Superyacht Rendezvous, sponsored by FEADSHIP Royal Dutch Shipyards, Asia Pacific Superyachts and Kata Rocks, will be the special Crew Party for the participating Superyachts on the final evening, December 18.

The event will be held at the Boathouse RE KA TA Beach Club and will be sponsored by Sevenstar Yacht Transport, a leading provider of yacht shipping services.

“Sevenstar Yacht Transport is very pleased to be a sponsor of the annual Asia Superyacht Rendezvous and the official Asia Superyacht Rendezvous Crew Party,” said Judith Wind, marketing and communications representative for Sevenstar Yacht Transport.

With over 25 years experience in worldwide yacht transportation services on a lift-on-lift-off basis, Sevenstar Yacht Transport utilizes its own global network of offices and exclusive agencies. The company is part of the Spliethoff Group based in Amsterdam which operates its own fleet of over 100 independent carriers and ships, transporting an average of 1,500 yachts every year through more than 100 ports in over 40 countries, the firm can handle yachts up to 60 meters and 650 metric tons.

Judith explained: “Innovation has been one of the keys to Sevenstar’s success, including the development of new loading methods and adaptable shipping cradles.

Next to that, the hard work of its skilled employees, flexibility and competitive pricing really makes a difference in the yacht shipping industry. Sevenstar staff understands the unique requirements of yacht owners, offering them a virtually unlimited choice of transportation options to destinations of choice worldwide.”

All crew of the participating superyachts will be invited to attend the exclusive Crew Party, where they will be able to enjoy RE KA TA’s delicious canapés, drinks and party the night away, in luxurious, yet trend-setting surroundings.

On the same night, inspired by luxury superyacht design, the multi award winning Kata Rocks will be hosting the prestigious “Gala Dinner”.

“Food connoisseurs attending the event will delight in a mouth-watering cuisine experience, prepared by the executive of Kata Rocks – Chef Paul Quarchioni. A cuisinier who has created dining experiences for royalty and other dignitaries for over a quarter-century of work. Prior to his involvement at Kata Rocks, Chef Quarchioni mastered his art in a number of highly-rated Michelin Guide and Gault Millau restaurants; among them, eight Michelin-starred restaurants in France and the UK, including Restaurant Les Quatre Saisons with Jean Michel Lorain and The Oak Room Restaurant at Le Meriden, Piccadilly with David Chambers,” said Bryan Hoare, the marketing and communications director for Kata Rocks.

Talking about the Kata Rocks host facilities, Bryan expressed: “The event will take place on the gently sloping rock outcrop in front of this remarkable property. An enchanting space on the promontory between Kata Noi Beach and Kata Beach. The restaurant, bar and clubhouse will be employed to exciting effect, with activities and programs that
reflect the luxury and glamour of the numerous superyachts moored between Kata Point and Koh Phu, on this fully-moonlit night.”

The Asia Superyacht Rendezvous runs annually in Phuket on December 16, 17 and 18. Yachts of over 30 meters or 100 feet in size are eligible to attend the Rendezvous, however, the exclusive crew party is “by invitation only”.

Yachts in the Mediterranean or Americas attending the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous can take advantage of Sevenstar’s yacht transport service with departure ports at Palma de Mallorca, Genoa Italy, Marmaris Turkey, Palm Beach, Florida and Golfito, Costa Rica.

The annual Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is proudly sponsored by the Phuket Gazette, PGTV and the ‘Phuket Today’ show, broadcast daily throughout Thailand on True Visions (channels 99 and 58).
