Make-A-Wish, catch a fish at Exotic Fishing Thailand charity tournament [video]
PHUKET: Just days after the Phuket International Fishing Tournament (PIST) concludes in Chalong this Saturday (click here), Exotic Fishing Thailand (EFT) will be hosting a tournament to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Foundation Thailand.
The the main event is on November 25 from 8am to 6pm at the Phang Nga fishing lake – home to more than 60 different species of fish from around the world.
“I choose to support Make-A-Wish as one of my nieces is a cancer survivor, so I can relate a little to children facing this and other potentially terminal diseases,” Mike Bailey from EFT said.
“Our ultimate goal is to get children from Make-A-Wish to eventually come to EFT if they have angling dreams.”
Anglers will be aiming for three different trophies during the competition: most fish caught (points weighted depending on fish species), most species caught and best fishing photo.
The competition fee is 5,500 baht per entrant, of which 5,000 baht will go to the foundation.
Anglers wanting to take part in the competition are invited to test the waters on November 24 for a full day of fishing for 4,000 baht, Mr Bailey noted.
