Superyacht Rendezvous to rock Kata

Legacy Phuket Gazette

PHUKET: Kata Rocks, one of Phuket’s premier oceanfront developments, has been chosen to become the official host sponsor for the 2013 Asia Superyacht Rendezvous event.

“This is a logical move for two companies that cater to the lifestyles of individuals, to whom luxury, beauty and tranquility are of paramount importance,” commented organizer, Charles Dwyer.

Other free-of-charge “Guests of the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous will have the opportunity to stay in one of Kata Rock’s award-winning Sky Villas, where they can enjoy stunning sunset views of the bay where their superyachts will be anchored during the three day event.”

Held annually from December 16 to 18, the Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is host to some of the world’s finest superyachts. Not just any yacht can take part. It is “by invitation only” and it is mandatory that each yacht be at least 30 meters in length.

“Kata Rocks is delighted to be hosting this exciting event” enthused Richard Pope, managing director at Kata Rocks.

“It has been wonderful to see the Rendezvous attracting superyachts to Phuket in increasing sizes and numbers every year. Our Sky Villa design of sleek louvres with tinted glass panels, wrapped around a modern, futuristic design was inspired by superyachts, so it is fantastic that they will be moored directly at our shoreline. We are thrilled that owners of the participating yachts will appreciate our luxurious facilities and enjoy the exceptional levels of service that they are accustomed to.”

Launching this October, resort amenities at Kata Rocks include an oceanfront restaurant and trendy bar, world-class Spa and Wellness Center, ‘state-of-the-art’ fitness room, lounge, library and boutique. An estimated 120 guests will be comfortably accommodated on the waterfront for the Rendezvous’ Gala Dinner.

The annual Asia Superyacht Rendezvous is proudly sponsored by the Phuket Gazette, PGTV and the ‘Phuket Today’ show, broadcast daily throughout Thailand on True Visions (channels 99 and 58)
