Myanmar worker killed in stabbing, three foreigners arrested in Malaysia
A factory worker from Myanmar tragically lost his life after being stabbed by a colleague during an argument at a house in Butterworth, Malaysia. Seberang Perai Utara district police chief Mohd Asri Shafie announced that three foreign individuals have been arrested and are currently being held in remand for seven days in connection to the murder.
Two coworkers of the victim and his employer, between the ages of 28 and 40, were apprehended separately in Butterworth and Permatang Pauh. The incident took place during a drinking session, when the victim was stabbed by another furniture factory worker.
Mohd Asri Shafie stated that a medical officer from Hospital Seberang Jaya informed the police that a 33-year-old man had been admitted to the hospital with stab wounds in his stomach. The man later died at 2.03am.
The attacker fled the scene and went into hiding after the incident. Upon arresting the suspect, police seized two mobile phones, a knife, two bottles of alcoholic drinks, and the clothes worn by the suspect during the altercation.
