Jokic and Murray make NBA history with dual 30-point triple-doubles

In a groundbreaking NBA Finals performance, Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray both achieved 30-point triple-doubles, leading the Denver Nuggets to a 109-94 victory over the Miami Heat and securing a 2-1 lead in the series. This marked the first time in NBA history that two teammates accomplished this feat in the same game, whether in the regular season, playoffs, or Finals.

Jokic, a two-time NBA Most Valuable Player, scored 32 points, collected 21 rebounds, and made 10 assists, an unprecedented combination in an NBA Finals game. Meanwhile, Murray contributed 34 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, completing his triple-double in the final moments of the game.

Nuggets coach Michael Malone expressed his admiration for the pair’s achievement, stating, “That’s incredible right there.” He also praised Jokic, saying, “Regarding Nikola, nothing he does surprises me, ever.”

Murray also lauded his teammate, describing Jokic as a “special, special player.” He elaborated, “He makes it look so easy. Just free throws, his touch, his creativity, his no-look passes, his IQ. I could go down the line.”
