In Trang province, a Russian tourist‘s rental vehicle veered off the main road, plunging into a deep roadside ditch. No one was harmed in the incident, as reported by the Phuket Tourist Police.

A message was dispatched yesterday from Phuket Tourist Police’s headquarters, detailing the incident. The report revealed the car’s occupant was a Russian tourist, who rented a Honda sedan during his stay in the region. In the aftermath of the accident, a sergeant from the Tourist Police lent a helping hand to the shaken visitor.

The vehicle involved in the mishap showcased a few peculiarities. It bore red licence plates, a distinctive feature allotted to cars that are fresh off the dealer’s lot, awaiting their official licence plates. The conditions attached to these red plates are explicit: the car must obtain special permission to be driven on public roads after dark and to travel outside the province it is registered.

However, the Phuket Tourist Police’s report did not delve into the matter of the red licence plates. The incident’s details were succinctly summarised, stating that the tourist had agreed to cover the costs for the damages sustained by the rental vehicle, reported Phuket News.

An intriguing element of this incident is the apparent silence from the Trang Tourist Police, who are responsible for maintaining law and order in both Trang and Phatthalung provinces. As of now, they have not published any reports or statements relating to this event on their official website.
