Thai floods: AirAsia re-routes to Phuket
PHUKET: Thai AirAsia has issued an announcement that any passengers heading to the flooded southern province of Nakhon Sri Thammarat should re-route to other airports, including Phuket, or cancel travel plans altogether.
“Due to flood situation in southern Thailand, extreme conditions have caused difficulties in road transportation. Nakhon Sri Thammarat airport remains closed.
“Bus services previously offered by the Public Transport Company from Surat Thani Airport to Nakhon Sri Thammarat town are no longer available as some roads are not accessible,” read the statement.
AirAsia gave passengers planning to travel to Nakhon Sri Thammarat or Surat Thani between today and Monday two options:
“Passengers may change their travel route to an alternative airport at no additional charge. Airports that passengers may choose to re-route to include Phuket, Haad Yai and Narathiwat. Passengers will be able to use this privilege up to 30 days from their original date of travel.

Passengers may also opt to cancel their travel plans in return for a credit shell of the original ticket price. The credit must be used within 90 days from the original date of travel.
“We apologize for any inconvenience you may encounter during this difficult time. We will continue to do our best to resume our services as soon as possible.
