Phuket Health and Wellness Festival
PATONG, PHUKET: The Phuket Provincial Public Health Office, in association with the Phuket Spa Association, public and private hospitals, and government agencies in Phuket, will hold the Phuket Health and Wellness Festival 2009 from June 11 to 13 at Jungceylon Shopping Complex in Patong.
The event, an expansion of the Andaman Spa Invitation held since 2006, is aimed at promoting Phuket as a hub for tourists seeking quality spa treatments at affordable prices.
The event will include a wide range of spa services available on the island as well as medical and dental services.
A wide number of hospitals, schools and clinics will have booths at the event, which is being promoted by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
Phuket Spa Association President Wichien “Victor” Juthamongkul, also the director of the Royal Spa in Phuket City, said that a wide variety of demonstrations and free gifts will be available to those who attend the event, which will run from 11am to 10pm daily.
Minister of Public Health Witthaya Kaewparadai is expected to be on hand to open the event at 11am on June 11.
Also at Jungceylon, tomorrow marks the final day of the exhibition and sale of One Tambon-One Product (Otop) merchandise from Singburi province.
The Singburi Otop Fair includes a wide range of items with the Otop “five-star” ranking, including the famous “Mae La sunrise catfish,” sausages, traditional desserts, herbal products and garments.
The fair kicked off on June 3.
