PM to make lightning tour of Phuket

PHUKET: Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra arrives in Phuket tomorrow afternoon for a lightning tour that will take in Phuket Town, Patong and the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ retreat at Amanpuri. The PM’s schedule is as follows: * 1:30 pm – Arrival at Phuket International Airport and then by car to Pa Khlok; * 1:50 pm – Visit “One Tambon, One Product” exhibition in the Pa Khlok Rubber Research Center; * 2:30 pm – Depart Pa Khlok; * 2:50 pm – Arrival at Phuket Provincial Meeting Hall on Narisorn Rd, Phuket Town, for a briefing on tourism in Phuket; * 3:15 pm – Depart for Patong, for briefing by Chief of Kathu District about tourism problems in Patong, followed by walkabout in the town; * 4:30 pm – Depart from Patong; * 5:50 pm – Reception at Amanpuri for ASEAN Foreign Ministers. On Friday morning he will fly from Surin Beach by helicopter to Phi Phi, Ao Nang and Krabi, before returning to Phuket for his flight out.
