Mutilated body washed up in mangroves
THALANG: Police have no clues in the hunt for a killer or killers who disemboweled a man and dumped his mutilated body at sea. The body washed up among mangroves near the Fishery Center at Moo 4, Baan Laem Sai, where villagers found it about 6 pm yesterday. The victim’s throat had been slashed with such force that his head was almost severed from his body. His torso had also been sliced open in the shape of a cross. Police estimated the man had been dead for about 24 hours but were waiting for the results of an autopsy being conducted at Thalang Hospital. Pol Maj Jaroon Plaiduang, of Thalang District Police Station, said the man was Asian, with dark skin, and was estimated to be 20-25 years old. He was about 5 ft 5 inches tall and was wearing only a pair of long, cream-colored trousers. No identification papers were found. “It appears from the wounds to be a very cruel killing,” Maj Jaroon said. “It’s likely that he was dumped into the sea to conceal the murder.”
