McEnroe on Murray
PHUKET: “Murray has now put himself in a very good position, once again. He had to step it up against a more experienced player and he did just that and showed signs that he could go all the way – he was brilliant at times.”
Former Wimbledon champion and a true legend of the sport, John McEnroe remarking on the British number one, Andy Murray’s third round victory over the big serving Ivan Ljubicic from Croatia.
McEnroe has been a commentator for the BBC at Wimbledon for several years – hopefully the “commentators curse” will not return to haunt both him and Murray as it did in 2009 when he suggested Murray should reach the final. Murray crashed out in the semi-final against Andy Roddick that year.
