Man stabbed in karaoke brawl
TALAD YAI: A 25-year-old man was stabbed at a karaoke bar early Monday morning after an argument broke out over which song to sing, said Pol Sub Lt Jakkrapon Suchon of Phuket City Police.
Komson Kampan, 25, was drinking with four friends at Phaithong Karaoke on the road to Koh Sireh when three younger men entered the bar, said Lt Jakkrapon.
“The men began arguing about which song to sing,” said Lt Jakkrapon.
A fight erupted when Komson and one of the younger men both took a shine to the same bar girl, he explained.
“The fight spilled outside where Komson was stabbed in the back. The younger men then fled the scene,” Lt Jakkrapon said.
Komson was rushed to Vachira Phuket Hospital before police arrived. He was discharged today, he added.
The owner of the bar said that he heard a gunshot, but no gunshot injuries were reported. Police did, however, find a bullet at the scene, said Lt Jakkrapon.
“The men were all quite drunk, so Komson is unable to remember what the man who stabbed him looked like. There were too many people involved in the fight and it was very dark. His friends cannot remember much either, which makes it difficult for us to close this case,” said Lt Jakkrapon.
The owner of the bar has also been unable to remember any useful information to aid police, said Lt Jakkrapon.
The investigation continues.
