Major blackouts announced

PHUKET: The Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority (PPEA) has announced scheduled blackouts in order to continue its work on high-voltage power lines.

The blackouts, which will occur from 9 am to 5 pm, will affect the following populated areas:

September 10, Rawai: from Rawai Pier to Moo Baan Promthep, including all along Rawai Beach, Rawai Happy Home and Soi Ya Nui.

September 17, Rawai: east side of Wiset Rd, from opposite Muang Phuket School to Saiyuan Rd, including Soi Muang Phuket, Fisherman Way housing estate, Soi Baan Bang Kontee and Soi Ruamjai.

September 24, Phuket City: south side of Yaowarat Rd, from Soi Panieng to Songkhla Rd, including Tessabaan Samkong School, some parts of Phuket Villa 1 and Yaowarat Sois 2 and 3.

September 26, Chalong: west side of Chao Fa West Rd, from the PPEA substation to opposite Wat Chalong, including Soi Nakok, Chaofa Thani housing estate, Baan Nai Trok and Soi Sainamyen Chalong.
