Local investment at centre of IBAP meeting

PHUKET TOWN: At a public meeting tomorrow, (November 24), Phuket Senator Paiboon Upatising and Provincial Governor Pongpayome Vasaputi will join local business leaders to hear the views of a distinguished economist and a cyber-expert about the future of investment in Phuket. Addressing a meeting of the International Business Association of Phuket (IBAP) will be Chulalongkorn University lecturer Thitinan Pongsudhirak and IT advisor to the Thai government Peter van Haren. Khun Thitinan will speak on “Globalization and its Thai Critics”, while Mr van Haren will examine “What Phuket needs to become an IT Center”. The meeting, which will take place on the 19th floor of the Royal Phuket City hotel, is open to the general public. Registration is at 11 am; the meeting will commence at 11:30; and lunch will be served at about 12:30. The entrance charge is 400 baht for IBAP members, and 500 baht for non-members.
