Local Tourism Grads Landing Jobs

PHUKET: Graduates of Prince of Songkhla University’s Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management program are faring better than fellow grads of the school’s other campuses when it comes to landing a job. Nine out of ten Bachelor’s degree recipients from PSU’s Phuket campus, where the four-year program is offered, found employment following their graduation in September, according to a poll conducted recently by the university. The 90.9 percent figure among Phuket grads was higher than the combined job placement rate of Bachelor’s degree recipients of the university’s three campuses located in Phuket, Songkhla and Pattani. Overall, 73 percent of PSU grads holding a Bachelor’s degree landed jobs. Eighteen percent were still hunting for work and nine percent were pursuing a Master’s degree. A total of 2,319 Bachelor’s degree recipients participated in the poll.
