Hospital, hotels, sign MOU on medical tourism

PHUKET: Bangkok Hospital Phuket has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with nine hotels to promote medical tourism in Phuket.

Dr Kongkiat Kespechara, Director of Bangkok Hospital Phuket, said that the hospital would arrange first aid training for staff of the nine signatory hotels and would ensure staff knew what to do in the event of an emergency. The hotels were also inspected to check that facilities are suitable for patients recovering after surgery or other medical treatment.

He also said that the hospital and the hotels will work together to promote Phuket as a destination for health tourism.

The nine hotels that have signed the MOU are: Mom Tri’s Boathouse, Hilton Phuket Arcadia Resort & Spa, Holiday Inn Resort Phuket, The Merlin Beach Resort, Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, Phuket Graceland Resort & Spa, Katathani Phuket Beach Resort, The Access Pool Resort & Spa and the Bundarika Wellness Resort.
