German found dead in Rawai rental room

PHUKET: Chalong Police are investigating the death of a German national found dead in his rented room in Phuket on Friday.

The body of Sven Rzezaczka, 47, was discovered at 11am, after a reported drinking session with friends the night before.

“Mr Rzezaczka’s body was found lying face down on the bed with his knees on the floor. There was vomit on the bed and several empty lao kao bottles were found in the room,” said Maj Thada Sodarak of the Chalong Police.

“There was a strong smell of alcohol, but no signs of a struggle or violence.”

Praijit Bootjan, a friend of Mr Rzezaczka’s, was the first to discover the German’s body, informing police of his death.

She added that Mr Rzezaczka had recently been drinking daily and hardly eating.

His body was taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital for further examination.

“We are still waiting for doctors to conclude their investigation into the cause of death,” said Maj Thada.
