Bill Barnett launches new book: Collective Swag
PHUKET: The Phuket Gazette‘s “Island Fever” columnist, Bill Barnett, is back with his third book, Collective Swag, a phantasmagorical collection of rabid essays on everything from the evils of low-cost travel to blunders in modern architecture.
Reading his frantic, caffeine-charged chronicle of life on the road throughout the Indian subcontinent and the Asia-Pacific region is a sure cure for elevator music gone viral. The 70-page composition includes 27 pieces with titles that range from “Seventeen Ways to Die in Phuket” to “Asia’s Altered State”.
Bill’s previous works, It Might Get Weird (52 pages) and Last Call: Never Trust A Mayan Selling Real Estate (32 pages), continue to live lives of their own.
Nonetheless, in Bill’s other life – the one that isn’t producing dynamic, acid-tripping, stream-of-consciousness text – as a leading hospitality consultant, public speaker and columnist, he is quick to point out, for what it’s worth: “There is no such thing as owning too many black t-shirts.”
When not living out of a suitcase, Bill calls the island of Phuket home. His property insights can be found at the thephuketInsider.com, while Collective Swag can be found here.
