14 flights delayed, 6 diverted, black-outs at airport as storms hit Phuket

Many flights were unable to land safely at Phuket International Airport on time and had to be diverted. There were power outages around the airport lasting from six minutes to many hours yesterday (July 5).

Fourteen flights were delayed as planes were not able to land due to the wind squalls that came through the west coast of the island late in the afternoon.

  1. Nok Air Airlines flight DD3125 from Nanning, China was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.06pm.
  2. Air Asia Airlines flight FD3007 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 50 pm.
  3. Bangkok Airway flight PG248 from Chiang Mai International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at56 pm.
  4. Jetstar Airlines flight 3K535 from Singapore International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 3.58pm.
  5. China Southern Airline flight CZ6063 from GuangZhou, China was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.12pm.
  6. Nok Air Airlines flight DD7514 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.15pm.
  7. China Southern Airlines flight CZ6093 from Shenzhen was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 3.58pm.
  8. China Eastern Airlines flight MU2021 from Hangzhou was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.26
  9. Hebei Airlines flight NS3521 from Shijiazhuang was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.13pm.
  10. Silk Air Airlines flight MI756 from Singapore was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 5pm.
  11. Air Asia Airlines flight FD3031 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 5.16pm.
  12. Thai Airways flight TG217 from Suvarnabhumi Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at55pm.
  13. China Southern Airlines flight CZ649 from Guiyang was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 6.22
  14. Nok Air Airlines flight DD7520 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 6.39pm.

Six flights that had to be diverted are…

  1. Malaysia Airlines flight MH790 from Malaysia was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 5.51pm had to be diverted to Langkawi.
  2. Air Asia Airlines flight FD3017 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.58pm had to be diverted to Hat Yai in Song Khla.
  3. Dragon Air Airline flight KA264 from Hong Kong was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 5 .45pm had to be diverted to Penang.
  4. China Southern Airlines flight CZ649 from Guiyang was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 6.22pm had to be diverted to U- Tapao in Rayong.
  5. Thai Smile Airways flight WE275 from Suvarnabhumi Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 4.40pm had to be diverted to Bangkok.
  6. Thai Lion Air Airlines flight SL760 from Don Mueang International Airport was scheduled to arrive in Phuket at 5.17pm had to be diverted to Surat Thani.

Electric system at the Phuket International Airport were tripped four times. The Phuket Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) has been called to fix the problem. The whole airport was blacked out from 7.30pm and back at 7:36pm.
