Thai schoolboy reveals sexual abuses by male teacher in Samut Prakan

School director faces criticism amidst claims of repeated sexual assaults

A male teacher in the central province of Samut Prakan allegedly sexually assaulted multiple schoolboys and kept images and videos of the abuses.

The 31 year old Thai mother accompanied her 16 year old son, Pae, to Phra Samut Chedi Police Station to file a child abuse complaint. The boy insisted that he was not the first or only victim, as the teacher showed him explicit videos and pictures of multiple other students.

Pae told police that the teacher, later identified as Chanaphon Konduang, asked him to meet at his home on Suksawat-Chulachomklao Fort on June 13, saying he would buy him a brand new mobile phone after the meeting.

Pae said he travelled to Chanaphon’s home on his motorcycle and saw him drinking beer alone outside the property. Chanaphon then took him inside the house and forced him to perform oral sex. The abuse was recorded in both images and videos.

According to the young victim, the teacher asked him to meet frequently at school and sexually assaulted him.

The mother became aware of the abuse after the school asked her to meet on June 23. She initially thought her son was involved in a physical altercation with his classmates, but her son denied it. He refused to speak about the conflict that led the school to seek a meeting with her.

Before the school meeting, the mother continued asking about the matter until the boy agreed to reveal that he had been sexually abused by Chanaphon. The mother did not wait for the school meeting and decided to take legal steps against the teacher immediately.

The school director told ThaiRath that the school had set up a special committee to investigate the case and had already moved the accused teacher to work at the Secondary Educational Service Area Office in Samut Prakan until the investigation concludes.

The exact name of the school was not included in the report to avoid damaging its reputation. Netizens anticipated that the incident took place at the same school where sexual abuses had been reported previously, and condemned the director for his reckless supervision.
