A tourist suffered a broken nose after tripping over a road pin in the middle of Pattaya‘s streets, prompting the head of the Night Business Association in the city to appeal for a resolution to this persistent issue.

Footage of a foreign tourist tripping over a road pin while crossing the street and subsequently injuring his nose has sparked debate. The incident occurred on the streets near Jomtien Beach. The injured man was swiftly taken to a local hospital where it was confirmed that his nose was broken.

Liza Hamilton, the head of the Night Business Association in Pattaya, brought the video to the attention of Pattaya Press. She recounted an earlier morning incident, involving an English tourist who also tripped over a road pin and was injured. Previously, a similar incident had occurred with a Canadian tourist. The city of Pattaya had been notified of these incidents.

At that time, the tourist did not report the incident to the police but sought medical treatment. It was discovered that he had suffered three broken ribs and required approximately five stitches. He was unable to walk and subsequently returned to his home country. Hamilton believes that the city of Pattaya should address this issue seriously, as further incidents could result in more severe injuries or even fatalities, damaging the city’s reputation as a tourist destination.

Hamilton added that she had reported the issue of road pins to the city of Pattaya numerous times, reported Sanook. She was informed that the issue was frequent but not a project of the current Mayor of Pattaya, rather it was a project of the previous administration. However, no one had tackled this problem yet and she wished for a serious solution. A potential remedy could be to bury the pins deeper. Even though they might look aesthetically pleasing, they frequently cause pedestrians to trip, and there have also been several instances of motorbike accidents.
