Consumer demand for the government’s three-digit lottery tickets remains strong, despite difficulties in locating lottery stores, according to the Finance Ministry. Plans are underway to open additional lottery shops to better serve the public.

The popularity of the N3 lottery continues to grow, as observed yesterday, October 19, in Mueang district, Nakhon Ratchasima. Several lottery shops saw a steady stream of customers eager to purchase N3 tickets. This stands in stark contrast to the traditional lottery stalls along the streets, which experienced minimal customer traffic.

The government introduced the N3 lottery, or three-digit lottery, to tackle the issue of overpriced lottery tickets that are typically available through market mechanisms. The N3 lottery offers consumers more choice and better odds of winning, with tickets priced at just 20 baht each.

Each N3 ticket is eligible for prizes in one of four categories: 3-digit straight, 3-digit alternating, 2-digit straight, and special prizes. Payments for these tickets are made digitally via the Paotang application during the current sandbox phase.

Jiraporn Nguenkham, a vendor at the Korat Lotto shop in Nakhon Ratchasima, reported that demand for the new lottery has remained robust since the tickets went on sale during a six-month pilot phase that began on October 16.

“I hope the government considers opening more points of sale due to the overwhelming interest from the public.”

In Khon Kaen, Piyapong Phanthanawiboon, another lottery vendor, noted that the N3 lottery has been well-received by the community. However, he mentioned that some customers need more time to become familiar with the system, and staff are available to assist them, reported Bangkok Post.

“There are only seven N3 lottery outlets in Khon Kaen, including my shop, which has garnered significant attention from people.”

He also highlighted that technical glitches occur when multiple tickets are bought simultaneously, necessitating several scans to complete a purchase. The tickets are priced at 20 baht each, and customers can buy up to 100 tickets at once.
