How long does it take to repair a road?

Specifically, how long does it take to repair Kaw Sim Bee Road (the road up Rang Hill from Phuket Town, on the south side)?

Two weeks ago we reported the cracks in the road, some up to 50 metres long. Road authorities have closed the road for ‘landslide protection’ which we’re going to read as reinforcing the cliff at the side so the road doesn’t slide off the side of the hill (a pre-requisite for a hillside road).

So how long will Kaw Sim Bee Road be closed? Until June 27 next year. (June 27 in 2018 falls on a Wednesday, a good day to finish roadworks)

In the meantime if you feel the need for a Tunk Ka Café Khao Phat Gai or some selfies at the look out area (a MUST see) then you’ll need to head up the road besides Vachira Hospital.
