Bangkok morning chill persists amid rising PM 2.5 levels

Bangkok continues to experience cool morning weather with temperatures as low as 19 degrees Celsius, similar to the northern, central, and northeastern regions. Meanwhile, PM 2.5 levels are expected to rise, particularly in the upper parts of the country.

The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecasts that a moderate high-pressure area or cold air mass is covering upper Thailand, resulting in cool to cold mornings in the north and northeast. The central region, including Bangkok and its surrounding areas, the east, and the south, will also have cool mornings.

Mountain peaks remain cold to very cold. Dust and haze accumulation in the upper part of the country is moderate but expected to increase due to weakening winds.

In Bangkok and its vicinity, morning temperatures range from 19 to 22 degrees Celsius, with highs reaching 33 to 35 degrees Celsius.

The north will see cool to cold conditions with morning fog, temperatures between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius, and highs of 31 to 35 degrees Celsius. Mountain peaks in the north will experience cold to very cold weather, with lows of 6 to 15 degrees Celsius.

The northeast will have cool to cold mornings, with temperatures rising by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius. Lows will range from 14 to 18 degrees Celsius, with highs of 30 to 33 degrees Celsius. Mountain tops will remain cold, with lows of 10 to 15 degrees Celsius.

In the central region, expect cool mornings with temperatures between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius and highs of 32 to 35 degrees Celsius.

The east will have similar conditions, with low temperatures between 18 and 22 degrees Celsius and highs of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. The sea will have waves less than 1 metre high and around 1 metre offshore.

In the south, the eastern coast will be cool in the mornings with light rain in some southernmost areas. Temperatures will range from 19 to 21 degrees Celsius, with highs of 30 to 34 degrees Celsius.

From Nakhon Si Thammarat northwards, sea waves are about 1 metre high, while from Songkhla southwards, waves will be 1 to 2 metres high, reported KhaoSod.

The western coast will also experience cool mornings, with temperatures from 20 to 24 degrees Celsius and highs of 33 to 35 degrees Celsius. Sea waves will be about 1 metre high, with waves more than 1 metre offshore.
