Motorbike driver dies in Phuket collision

A motorbike driver has died after colliding with a car in Phuket Town yesterday.

The Phuket City Police were notified of the incident on Takua Pa Road in Phuket Town at 2am yesterday.

Police and emergency responders arrived to find a damaged car driven by 28 year old Tanyapat Donkamnerd who was waiting for police at the scene.

Nearby they found a damaged motorbike. Its driver, 42 year old Montri Butlam, was later pronounced dead.

Police report that the motorbike was driving on the wrong lane at high speed. The car driver collided the bike, sending it crashing to the road and the driver ending up on the side of the road. The sedan driver is assisting police with their enquiries.
