A live M26 hand grenade was found on Patak Road in Karon today (July 18).
Karon Police were notified that an object, similar to a hand grenade, was on Patak Road at 5am this morning.
Experts from Phuket’s Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit were called immediately to the scene to find the M26 hand grenade near a rubbish bin in front of a Chinese noodle shop (Khanom Jeen).
EOD officers found that the M26 hand grenade was 100% ready to use. The grenade has been taken to a secure location.
Police are continuing their investigation to find the source of the grenade.
