First Hole-in-One at Laguna Phuket Golf Club new course
PHUKET: Soon after Laguna Phuket Golf Club unveiled the first half of their completely redesigned golf course, a new opportunity to celebrate presented itself. This time it was thanks to German golf player Juergen John who scored a hole-in-one on July 9 – both his and the course’s first.
Stepping onto the Blue Tee, Juergen flushed an 8 iron on the 125-yard Par 3 hole and send the ball flying high and far. Seconds later it landed softly on the green and rolled straight into the hole. Juergen and his friends exploded into celebration, and for good reason: few golfers are fortunate enough to ever score a hole-in-one – the Holy Grail of all golf players.
Juergen was rightfully proud of his achievement and also found words of prize for the new Laguna Phuket Golf Club layout, saying he loves the new layout and is looking forward to the club’s full course upgrade completion.
The redesigned Laguna Phuket Golf Club course will have its grand opening on January 1, 2015. As of now, nine of the 18 holes undergoing renovation are open. Thai residents and Phuket expats can take advantage of Laguna Phuket Golf Club’s special green fee promotion and enjoy an 18-hole game (2×9) for 1,800 baht, excluding caddy fee and equipment rental, until October 31, 2014.
