Vicious murder at fishing port

KOH SIREH: The body of a viciously murdered man was found washed ashore behind Asia Stannum Co Ltd at Laem Tokkae, near the fishing port, on Thursday. Pol Maj Jiradaej Kawinkij of Phuket Town Police Station said that he arrived at the scene to find the 25- to 30-year-old man lying face down. The victim was dressed in a black-and-white plaid shirt worn over a white T-shirt and brown underwear. He was not wearing pants. His face had been beaten with a blunt object. He had also been shot in the chest 17 times and stabbed in the back eight times, probably with a sharpened piece of steel reinforcing bar. Police believe that the victim was a fisherman who was killed at least three days earlier after getting involved in a brawl, and that his body was later dumped in the sea. The corpse was handed over to the Kusonlatham Foundation.
