THAI discounts internal fights

PHUKET: Thai Airways is offering special discounts on domestic flights from now until December 31 to Thais and, in some cases, foreign residents. The discounts are as follows: – Young people aged 12-24 years old who are traveling on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (except for public holidays or days in lieu of public holidays) receive a 25% discount. – Other passengers traveling on those days receive a 10% discount. – Passengers traveling to a different region in the country (changing flights at Bangkok in the same day) receive a 20% discount. – Passengers traveling in Thailand on four to six routes receive a 15% discount. (These flights may be on different days.) – Passengers aged 60 years or over receive a 15% discount. – Passengers on flights taking off after 8:30 pm receive a 15% discount. – Family members with the same family name (at least three passengers, traveling together the whole distance, not changeable) receive a 10% discount. To qualify as “resident”, non-Thai passengers must have lived in Thailand for at least a year. Non-Thais wishing to take advantage of the discounts should contact THAI or a travel agent to determine whether they qualify. The tickets are valid for three months. They may not be open tickets, or waiting-list tickets, or electronic tickets. Returning tickets or changing tickets will incur a 500-baht charge. The traveling date may be changed (except for the family tickets). Senior citizens, young people and members of the same family must present documentation when buying tickets, and discounts in those three categories are available only to Thais. Tickets may be bought at THAI authorized agents or at the Thai Airways office.
